Privacy Policy

flub is a stage management and digital promptbook application for macOS and iOS, developed by Flub Studios LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what information flub collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.

This policy applies to the flub app and any related services operated by Flub Studios LLC.

What data flub collects

Data you enter

flub stores the content you create inside the app, including:

• Production names, playwright names, theatre names, and company information
• Script text, character names, and stage directions imported from PDF or text files
• Dialogue notations, staging notes, cue notes, prop notes, and designer notes
• Cast member names and role assignments
• Run time records and metrics
• Display preferences such as font choice, script layout, and color settings

This content is yours. flub does not read, analyze, or use it for any purpose other than displaying it back to you inside the app.

iCloud sync data

If you are signed into iCloud on your device, flub uses Apple's CloudKit and iCloud Key-Value Store to sync your productions across your devices. This means your production data is stored in your personal iCloud account, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. Flub Studios LLC does not have access to your iCloud data.

Local device storage

flub stores certain preferences locally on your device using Apple's UserDefaults system. This includes settings such as your preferred script font, layout mode, and the last page you were viewing in a production. This data never leaves your device.

Usage data and analytics

flub does not currently collect analytics, usage statistics, crash reports, or any telemetry that is sent to Flub Studios LLC or any third party. We do not use advertising SDKs or third-party tracking.

Note: Apple may collect anonymized crash data through TestFlight or the App Store if you have opted into sharing diagnostics with Apple. This is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy and is not accessible to Flub Studios LLC.

Data flub does not collect

flub does not collect:

• Your name, email address, or account credentials. There is no flub account.
• Your location
• Your contacts, photos, microphone, or camera data
• Payment information
• Device identifiers for advertising purposes

How flub uses your data

Your data is used solely to provide the features of the app to you:

• Production content is stored and displayed so you can manage your promptbook across rehearsals
• iCloud sync is used to make your data available across your personal devices
• Local preferences are stored so the app remembers your settings between sessions

Flub Studios LLC does not sell, rent, share, or otherwise disclose your data to any third party.

Data storage and security

Your production data lives in two places: locally on your device, and in your personal iCloud account if iCloud sync is enabled. Flub Studios LLC does not operate any servers that store your content.

Apple's CloudKit encrypts data in transit and at rest. For more information on how Apple protects iCloud data, see Apple's iCloud security overview at apple.com/privacy.

Data retention and deletion

Your data persists on your device and in iCloud until you delete it. To delete your data:

• Delete a single production: Open the Production Library, tap the ⋯ menu on the production card, and select Delete production. This permanently removes all script content, notations, and metrics for that production.
• Delete all flub data from your device: Delete the flub app from your device. This removes all locally stored data.
• Remove data from iCloud: Deleting the app removes its iCloud Key-Value Store data. CloudKit data can also be managed in Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage on your device.

Children's privacy

flub is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information through flub, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of flub after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

For significant changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify beta testers directly.
