flub

Built in the rehearsal room,
for the rehearsal room.

flub started with a familiar problem. Every stage manager knows the drill: a stack of script pages, a tangle of notation systems, and a set of notes that live in four different places at once. After years of working that way, we decided to build something better.

We are two theatre makers and two co-founders who happen to also know a lot about software. flub is what happens when you combine decades of theatremaker experience with the engineering discipline to build something that actually holds up under pressure.

flub is built by Flub Studios LLC, a small independent software company based in Chicago.

Selena
Selena
Co-founder

Selena is an actor and theatremaker who runs a storefront theatre company in Chicago. She built flub after experiencing firsthand how time-consuming and fragmented stage management notes can be. She spent seven years in technical support at Apple before co-founding flub. She holds a BA in Theatre and English from UW-Whitewater and an MFA in Acting from The New School for Drama in New York City.

Nate
Nate
Co-founder, Training

Nate is an actor and theatremaker who also runs a storefront theatre company in Chicago. Before co-founding flub, he spent seven years in technical support at Apple and another five as a QA engineer at an app development company. He brings that experience to every part of how flub is built and supported. He attended UW-Whitewater.

Flub Studios LLC

We are an independent software company owned and run by actors and theatremakers. flub is not venture-backed and not built to scale for its own sake. It is built to be the best possible tool for stage managers, maintained by people who understand the work.
